FMCSA Creates New Website Page To Assist Entry-Level Drivers Get Answers
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) added a new page to its website with a focus on aiding those who may be seeking driver training.
The FMCSA updated the Training Provider Registry website to create a new section for entry-level drivers. This includes recommendations for steps drivers can take when selecting a provider for training, which is also available as a downloadable guide.
What Are the ELDT Regulations?
FMCSA’s Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulations set the minimum federal requirements that training entry-level drivers must complete before testing for certain commercial driver’s licenses and CDL endorsements. The ELDT requirements took effect in February 2022.
The FMCSA stated, “Drivers are strongly encouraged to use care when selecting a training provider that will help them meet their specific ELDT requirements. Visit the Training Provider Registry to learn more about how to stay compliant while training for your CDL or CDL endorsement.”
